Design of the Steelpan Academy
Students of the Steelpan Academy will be divided in four groups according to age: 9-12 years, 13-18 years, 19-25 years and adults.
On a weekly basis, once a week, each group will receive training. The classes will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
By doing so, on a weekly basis 180 youngsters will have the opportunity to follow the classes: 20 youngsters per age-group.
Training and teaching will be conducted by four outstanding instructors of steelpan music. The classes are given in the style and nature of 'panyards': a concept well known throughout the Caribbean.
